Impact Report: Right To Education Campaign TN 2021-2022
The Right To Education Act, 2009 (RTE) works towards safeguarding the Fundamental Right of a child’s Right to Education. Section 12(1)(c) of the RTE Act, 2009 mandates a minimum reservation of 25% seats for the free admission of children belonging to weaker sections and disadvantaged groups in entry-level schools (LKG and Grade 1 classes) of private, unaided non-minority institutions.
2021-22 RTE Statistics – Across TN:
Total number of RTE schools : 8437
Total number of RTE seats available : 1,08,978

Testimonials
Parent Testimonial:
“I am Meena from Chennai. I have admitted my child Vendhan to Beta Matriculation Higher Secondary School this year through RTE. I thank Bhumi for the help provided to me. They guided me right from identification and because of them I am able to admit my child to a good school. As I was facing many hardships due to the pandemic, being able to admit my child in a good school through RTE free education is a ray of hope to our family.

Volunteer Testimonial:

I was keen to volunteer for the society specifically related to education. That’s how I came across Bhumi. It was a different experience to volunteer for the RTE initiative of Bhumi. It revealed the root cause of issues in the education system and also provided a platform to support and address the issues of the parents.
The happiness and excitement in the parents’ voice, when their kids are admitted to a school is something to be treasured. It is always special when I’m a part of someone’s happiness. The joy of providing support fills my heart with immense pleasure.
I’m glad to be part of Bhumi and it was a great experience to work along with the team who share the same ideology. I’m looking forward to providing more support in the upcoming years.
